Perspective

Friends & family often tell me that the pictures I take of Lincoln don't do his size justice. When they see him in person, they're often taken back by how big he is. I guess I've just grown used to his size, so the pictures don't seem that 'off' to me. But these comments got me thinking. He really is unusually large, as one might expect from a giant breed puppy. So for posterity sake, I want to try to take more pictures of him with perspective to better document this wonderful, rascally puppy of ours.

Last Sunday was my first attempt at photographing him next to my 5'9" frame. And while I think we finally achieved a photo with some perspective, I would later gain more perspective than I had anticipated. After reviewing the photos it became abundantly clear that both of us were overdue for a wash. Note my scandalously high (read: curious, gravity-defying in a way only dirty hair can pull off) topknot and Lincoln's greasy 'do in the first photo. Rest assured I showered immediately after seeing these photos and Lincoln visited the groomer two days later.

Here's hoping our next exercise in perspective finds us both a little more recently shampooed ;)

  2. I have to confess to you that the first time I saw an Irish wolfhound I burst into uncontrollable laughter that resulted in me collapsing on the floor. Mostly a case of late night giggles, but I was so taken aback by their size! Every picture you post of Lincoln brings a huge smile to my face!

    1. Haha I know! They are honestly HUGE and so wiry. The look like they're from another world sometimes. The pictures people post of them online are often jaw dropping too, because they just look so massive! I don't blame you for giggling ;) Happy Lincoln puts a smile on your face!

    1. He certainly takes huge to another level hey? I often forget how big he is until I see him next to a 'large' dog (German Shepherd, Doberman, Bernese, etc.) and then I'm like woah! He's huge ;)

  5. Oh my goodness he is tall! I just love large dogs! My parents have a Bouvier who is now 100 pounds - but Lincoln dwarfs her to be sure! I am 5'11", so this definitely gives perspective :)
